patternjakes fix for MSPAINT annoying Color 1 and Color 2
labeling
About
.....
The new version of paint in Windows 7 is very cool, but one thing in it really
annoys me and many other users- The captions Color 1 and Color 2. They are
completely unhelpful and provide little description in what these colours are
used for (should be Stroke and Fill)
This fix replaces the multi-language pack for MSPAINT (English only) with a very
small modification, allowing the Stroke and Fill captions to be there instead of
Color 1 and Color 2
Instructions
............
To install this fix, you must first take ownership of
C:\Windows\System32\En-Us\MSPAINT.EXE.MUI. Once you have taken ownership of this
file, rename it to mspaint.exe.mui.backup, so we can restore the origanal if
anything goes wrong. Next copy the one contained in this zip file into the same
folder that the old mui resides in.
Next, open Paint, and you will instantly see the new changes made!
SIDE NOTE: Microsoft does not provide this support for this fix, so dont go
contacting them if anything goes wrong with Paint in the long run (VERY RARE
that it should) Additionaly this only works (and tested only) with the Windows 7
RTM (Build 7600) edition of Paint.
ALSO DO NOT REPLACE IF YOU ARE USING A 64BIT SYSTEM. THIS FILE IS FOR 32BIT
WINDOWS ONLY. The file also has a signed digital certificate to avoid security
issues.
